Tassie
Tassie was one of our first foster failures. We went to the local shelter looking for a dog to foster for the rescue group we fostered for, and we found Tassie. Tassie had been brought to the shelter by her former owner, they didn't say why, but I have a feeling it was because of her energy level. Tassie was a neurotic ball of energy when we got her out of the shelter. We brought her home, and once we got her settled in, I brought some toys out to try playing with her. She jumped 5ft in the air to catch a frisbee on my first throw!!! I started working on her training and she was super smart and easy to train. The only down side was for at least the first week, I never even saw her sit or lay down (or stand still for that matter). She was constantly running, jumping, spinning, as if she was incapable of calming down. With quite a bit of training, we were able to overcome this issue and now she is a great house dog (although she still LOVES to pay, especially with balls). She has done some agility training in our backyard, but I never did compete with her.
